Speaker's Biography

Dr. Melissa Jackson has taught in higher education for 11 years and has worked in schools, homes, and communities across New York City for over 18  years. She is passionate about working with young children with disabilities, their families, and the professionals collaborating with them. Melissa began her career as a teacher assistant and has taken on roles as a lead teacher, Program Director, and Director of Faculty Development in both public and private schools. Melissa was an adjunct in the Early Childhood Development and Learning: Diverse Children and Families graduate program at The City University of New York, Hunter College for 10 years before she transitioned into her current role as an Assistant Professor. Additionally, Melissa has served as a supervisor for early intervention providers and special educators in all five boroughs. Dr. Jackson’s research interests are fueled by her experiences in early childhood educational settings and the higher education classroom. Her research interests include the relationship between practitioners’ self-efficacy and the implementation of evidence-based supports provided to children with special needs, building evidence to teach essential emergency response skills to children with Autism, collaboration with families, social validity, and professional development for pre-service and in-service teachers.
 

Host's Biography

Dr. Scott Mesh is the Director of Young Child Learning and the CEO and Co-Founder of Los Niños Services which serves 2,000 young children with special needs each year through homecare and center services. He is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of experience working with young children and their families and is an expert on assessing young children for developmental disabilities and autism. He has helped thousands of parents over the years make the transition to gaining help for their children through early childhood special education services. He is a leader in early childhood development and working effectively with parents.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within 30 days before the event, the registration fee is not refundable. However, you will receive a credit for the registration fee which can be applied to another Young Child Learning event within the following 12 months. The processing fee is non-refundable.

Young Child Learning will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content and in the treatment of program participants.
 
The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of Young Child Learning. All grievances must be submitted in writing (via e-mail or mail) within 7 days after purchase of the webinar. Any supporting documents must be included with the submitted complaint.
