Presented by Sue Lawrence, M.A., M.Ed.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL | 1 HOURÂ | SELF-PACED | NON-INTERACTIVE |Â RECORDED SEPTEMBER 2024
This course will explore the issue of how young children grieve. Focus will be on the ways in which a child interprets death from the cognitive, psychoanalytic, and neurological perspectives. Behavioral and emotional consequences to loss will be explained, both as immediate responses and long-term ramifications. Factors that influence bereavement, such as relationships, personal traits, and circumstances of the loss will also be discussed. Practical suggestions on how to support these children after a loss will then be offered.
