Closing the Gap: Helping Professionals See Early Intervention Through a Parent's Perspective
Presented by Artemis Diaz | December 1, 2026 7PM EST
1 HOURÂ | LIVE ONLINE via ZOOM | INTERACTIVE
Parents are often the first to notice a delay, and the last to be heard. This webinar looks at early intervention through a parent's eyes, from the first worry to the first evaluation to the first service plan. Participants will hear what families experience when systems feel confusing, rushed, or full of jargon, and what helps them feel respected and informed. Using parent perspectives and practical examples, we will explore how small shifts in language, timing, and follow-up can build trust and improve participation. You will leave with simple, usable tools to strengthen communication with families, especially those navigating services in a second language or an unfamiliar system.
Teachers, therapists, social workers, and other early childhood professionals working with young children will benefit from this webinar.Â
Objectives
1. Describe the early intervention journey from a parent's point of view.
2. Identify common barriers families face when accessing child development services.
Participants will apply plain-language and trust-building strategies in conversations with caregivers.
3. Identify communication strategies to better support multilingual and first-time families.
This Workshop DOES NOT offer CE Credits/Certificates.
Only a Certificate of Attendance is available.
