Children who experience homelessness, child abuse and neglect, poverty or other similar situations are at greater risk for developmental delays and disabilities. Many children who receive early intervention or special education services experience these situations, which can exacerbate their developmental needs. It is important for service coordinators and service providers to be familiar with how these situations impact early development, learning, and parent-child interactions. This webinar provides strategies and resources related to supporting high risk children and families in challenging situations.

Dawn is an accomplished leader who's served for over 20 years as an Executive Director of home and center-based Early Intervention Programs supporting special needs infants and toddlers. She has also directed vocational rehabilitation and career training programs for youth and adults with disabilities. In September of 2020, Dawn joined Queens Community House (QCH) as the Director of their Childcare Network (QCCN). Dawn manages over 80 licensed family-based childcare providers who support children ranging from infancy to 12 years of age. Dawn oversees a contract with the NYC Department of Education (DOE) for EarlyLearn and 3K Programs. Dawn is also responsible for developing and implementing ongoing grant funded initiatives within QCCN. In addition to her role at QCCN, Dawn serves as a Parent Trainer and Behavior Interventionist for Blue Sea Educational Consulting.
Host's Biography
Dr. Scott Mesh is theĀ Director of Young Child Learning and the CEO and Co-Founder of Los NiƱos Services which serves 2,000 young children with special needs each year through homecare and center services. He is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with young children and their families and is an expert on assessing young children for developmental disabilities and autism. He has helped thousands of parents over the years make the transition to gaining help for their children through early childhood special education services. He is a leader in early childhood development and working effectively with parents.

Cancellation Policy
Young Child Learning reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any Young Child Learning event for any reason and without notice. Young Child Learning is not responsible for any changes in travel arrangements, hotel, lodging or any other costs of participants should a Young Child Learning event need to be rescheduled or cancelled. Young Child Learning will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the event, and any registration fees paid will be credited towards the new event. If you cancel within 30 days before the event, the registration fee is not refundable. However, you will receive a credit for the registration fee which can be applied to another Young Child Learning event within the following 12 months. The processing fee is non-refundable.
