Presented by Lindsay Astor Grant, MA, OTR/L | May 20, 2025 7PM EST

1 HOUR | LIVE ONLINE via ZOOM | INTERACTIVE

In this webinar, you will have the opportunity to explore the principles of sensory integration and their profound impact on the brain’s readiness for learning. You’ll gain insight into the link between sensory stimulation and its potential to cause dysregulation in children. Additionally, you will learn to identify common behaviors that indicate sensory dysregulation, as well as strategies to promote an optimal brain state for learning. We’ll also discuss how the design and layout of your classroom can either support learning readiness or unintentionally trigger dysregulation and behavioral challenges. By learning mindful and intentional strategies, you will discover how to create learning spaces that enhance student engagement, support emotional regulation, and foster impulse control. We’ll review potential environmental triggers that can lead to dysregulation and challenging behaviors. Throughout the session, you will be introduced to various sensory tools and techniques that can help children manage sensory input, stay focused, and remain calm. By the end of the webinar, you will be equipped with practical tools to create a warm and inviting learning environment that avoids overstimulation and supports regulation. You’ll leave with actionable strategies that will enable you to create a sensory-friendly classroom that enhances learning outcomes and encourages positive behaviors.
