This webinar reveals how a subtle but powerful element of adult language, pronoun choice and placement, shapes toddlers’ early identity, emotional resilience, and intrinsic motivation long before they can fully express themselves. In the first three years of life, pre- and emerging verbal children do not process words as outcome-based instructions; they absorb them as emotion-based identity statements. By understanding how toddlers neurologically process pronouns, adults’ words either foster intrinsic motivation or anchor external approval-seeking. Using simple one-word language swaps you will choose how to use pronouns intentionally to wire young brains for self-confidence, perseverance, and gritty behavior, three essential indicators for success in school and life.

Speaker's Biography

Cara Tyrrell, M.Ed is mom to three, a Vermont based Early Childhood Educator, Collaborative Parenting Coach, Teacher Trainer and the founder of Core4Parenting. Cara has Bachelor degrees in American Sign Language (ASL) and Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Education. She is the passionate mastermind behind the Collaborative Parenting Methodology™, a birth-to-five, soul and science based framework that empowers toddler parents and educators to turn tantrums into teachable moments. While teaching preschool and Kindergarten, she noticed her students knew their ABC’s and 123’s, but struggled with their social, emotional, and interpersonal skills. This realization led to her professional pivot as an online Early Childhood Parent Educator and Teacher Trainer. Cara has embraced her role as thought leader and fierce advocate for the COVID Generation (GEN-C). Host's Biography

Dr. Scott Mesh is the Director of Young Child Learning and the CEO and Co-Founder of Los Niños Services which serves 2,000 young children with special needs each year through homecare and center services. He is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with young children and their families and is an expert on assessing young children for developmental disabilities and autism. He has helped thousands of parents over the years make the transition to gaining help for their children through early childhood special education services. He is a leader in early childhood development and working effectively with parents.
